UPEK will use MontaVista Linux to create a Linux driver and embedded API that will facilitate integration of a fingerprint sensor with the TI OMAP 2420 platform. UPEK’s TouchStrip fingerprint sensor will enable device security as well as data protection for applications such as secure wallets for financial transactions. The fingerprint sensor also enables fingertip-driven navigation for menu scrolling, gaming joystick control and map navigation. These security and navigation applications can provide added value to high-end mobile phones and PDAs.
