UPEK Enables Fingerprint Authentication for DAP Technologies Rugged Mobile Computer Targeting Government, Military and Industrial Organizations

TouchChip fingerprint authentication solution integrated into MICROFLEX CE3240 rugged mobile computer

BERKELEY, CA – May 2, 2006 – UPEK®, Inc, the leading brand in fingerprint authentication security solutions, today announced that DAP Technologies is integrating UPEK’s TouchChip® TCS1 fingerprint authentication solution in its MICROFLEX CE3240 rugged mobile computer for government, military and industrial organizations.  The CE3240, with security solution features, is a handheld device that combines UPEK’s fingerprint sensor and companion processor with a smartcard reader and barcode reader to enable identification validation at secured locations. 

DAP’s CE3240, which meets and exceeds MIL STD 810F, withstands drops and vibrations, fluctuating temperatures including extreme cold and heat, and is dust and water proof.  The MICROFLEX CE3240 is designed to enable security software providers with a reliable hardware platform that can be quickly customized and deployed for rapid field use.
